So I am going to put up several recipes tonight because I am crossing things off my to-do list. Whoot! Go me.
This is sugar scrub. You use it in the shower or the bath. It exfoliates and moistures at the same time. If you like feeling oily, you don't even have to wash it off. I don't like feeling oily, I use soap afterwards to get the oil off. I figured these for a girl's night. Recipes adapted from OurBestBites
I put them in 1/2 pint jars. Important note, decorate your jar before putting the sugar scrub in. I tried it both ways to determine what was better, decorate first!
Sugar and Spice
1/4 c brown sugar
1/4 c white sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
Mix really well so that it is blended and all the brown sugar is broken up
Add:
1/8-1/4 tsp cinnamon oil (I used LorAnn candy and baking oil; essential oils would probably work too)
enough olive oil to get it to a consistency where it a thick paste
Tropical Escape
Heat 1/4 c coconut oil (I used the stuff I make magic shell with) until some of it is melted
Mix in heaping 1/2 c white sugar
Mix in zest from 1 lime OR 1 orange (do not mix the two, it looks like throw up)
Add any tropical like oils you can find (I wanted to add lime and coconut, couldn't find either. So I added orange. I also had raspberry. My friends did any combo for orange, raspberry, lime zest or orange zest and there was some really yummy smelling scrubs)
All of us added more sugar to get it to a consistency that we liked
And these are my cute examples:
It was a fun, easy, easy girls night!
